LIFT_NK_ End Of Project Report

Since 2022, the Livelihoods and Inclusion for Transformation – Northern Kenya (LIFT-NK) programme has been transforming lives across Samburu, Turkana, and Marsabit by helping pastoralist communities build climate-resilient and sustainable livelihoods. Supported by the IKEA Foundation and implemented by a consortium led by BOMA in partnership with DanChurchAid (DCA) and Smart Regional Consultants (SRC), the programme applies a climate-adapted version of BOMA’s proven Rural Entrepreneur Access Project (REAP) model to move households beyond dependence on humanitarian aid toward long-term self-reliance. Between 2022 and 2025, LIFT-NK supported 10,950 women, youth, and refugees to establish businesses connected to green value chains, positively impacting more than 71,831 people including household members. Through improved savings, food security, financial inclusion, and climate-smart entrepreneurship, participants are not only overcoming extreme poverty but are also becoming leaders and change makers within their communities.
