Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)
Our products empower participants to build lasting livelihoods to lift themselves and their families out of extreme poverty. We work at the nexus of six of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals:

Over 700 million people globally live in extreme poverty, with over half located in Africa. Robust social protection systems are essential for these marginalized and vulnerable populations, given extreme poverty’s multidimensional nature.

Hunger and malnutrition lead to less productive individuals who are more prone to sickness and disease. Over two billion people still do not have regular access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.

Inequalities faced by girls begin right at birth and follow them their whole lives. Gender equality is a fundamental human right and critical to all areas of a healthy, productive society.

With youth unemployment at a record high in much of Africa, long-term solutions are needed to address this growing issue. Climate change and gender inequality create further entry barriers, so inclusivity and “green” solutions are required.

Inequality hinders social and economic progress, slows efforts to reduce poverty, and diminishes people’s sense of purpose and self-esteem.

Climate change disrupts economies and affects lives and livelihoods, especially for the most vulnerable. Already, we are seeing how climate change can exacerbate disasters and disrupt standard weather patterns. Threats to food and the creation of water scarcity can lead to conflict and displacement.
Our REAP Models
We have developed six, adaptive models to address some of the most acute challenges that communities face throughout the drylands of Africa.
